I am showing my Flatland series of videos in Road Trip, the current show at General Hardware Contemporary Gallery, 1520 Queen Street West, Toronto. Up until August 16.
Cellphone video footage is used alongside graphic isometric forms and digital 3D effects to explore the falsehoods inherent in depiction in this series of video animations.

I am currently working on modelling trees in Blender, a 3D imaging software. So far, I'm basing them on trees painted by the Group of Seven in Algonquin Park. That is a landscape I'm intimately familiar with and adore. I'm also trying to question the way the trees were depicted by the G of 7 as upholding the narrative of wild, untamed forests.
As scaleless digital images they could become photos, 3D printed sculptures, videos or part of a virtual landscape. I'm just feeling my way in the dark at present, which is how I generally work.
